The Baltimore Ravens were without six starters at their first practice of Week 16, including quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Head coach John Harbaugh said that Jackson was “kept home” with flu-like symptoms. This is nothing new for the 28-year-old quarterback, who has popped up on the injury report with an illness several times in his career.
Harbaugh also indicated that Roquan Smith and Ronnie Stanley were both “held back” after minor injuries picked up in Sunday’s game. Smith played every snap, but Stanley went
down in the third quarter and did not return. Rookie Carson Vinson finished the drive at left tackle, and the next time the Ravens were on the field, their backups were in to close out the game. In other words, Stanley could have been able to return to the game but never had the opportunity. Why put him on the field in garbage time with the team’s other key starters done for the day?
