The No. 24 Wisconsin Badgers pulled off an 86-55 win over the Ball State Cardinals on Tuesday, improving to 3-0 on the season as they dominated from the start and never trailed for the second straight
game.
It was a stout defensive performance from Wisconsin, as the new-look group is learning to play with each other on that end of the floor. Offensively, the Badgers had a great start, scoring 30 points over the first 10 minutes of the game. Then, after some struggles, specifically with shot selection and three-point shooting, Wisconsin played quite well in the second half, extending its lead to 35 at one point before eventually winning by 31.
Nolan Winter recorded his second double-double, putting up 19 points and 10 rebounds on an efficient 7-of-11 from the field. He’s averaging 16 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks, while shooting 63.3 percent from the field this season.
Behind Winter, four others got into double figures as Wisconsin continued to move the ball really well offensively.
Turnovers do remain a problem for the Badgers, who had 15 on Tuesday, but they’ve managed to shoot the ball efficiently enough to score 96, 97, and 86 points in their three games so far this season.
After the game, I summed up my main thoughts on both sides of the ball, looking at where Wisconsin played well and where they need to improve.
Here’s our Day After reaction to Wisconsin’s 86-55 win over Ball State.
