The Washington Mystics lost to the Atlanta Dream, 109-77 on Saturday at the Gateway Center in College Park, Ga.
Let’s say that the first half was bad with the Mystics not able to get much going, but the Dream weren’t shooting particularly well either. They were down 46-34 to end the first half. But the third quarter was when things unraveled. Atlanta shot 56.2 percent from the field, and took advantage of nine turnovers the Mystics committed along the way. Ultimately, the fourth quarter was just a slog
to the final buzzer.
Kiki Iriafen led the Mystics with 24 points and Sonia Citron added 18 more. For the Dream, Angel Reese led with 18 points and 17 rebounds.
The Mystics’ next game is on Monday at home when they host the Indiana Fever. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. ET. See you then.
