We are entering the end times. Following their loss to West Virginia, the 3-7 Colorado Buffaloes have been banished to the shadow realm: ESPN 2.
The Buffs will play their next game at home against Arizona
State on one of ESPN’s secondary channels, with kickoff slated for 6:00 p.m. MT.
Okay, fine. That might be a TINY bit dramatic, but this is new for us here in Boulder during the Coach Prime era. Colorado fans have gotten very accustomed to watching their team on either Fox or ESPN, as CU’s previous 23 games have been broadcast nationally. With the game being on ESPN 2, the streak will extend to 24 consecutive Colorado games on national television.
The 6:00 p.m. kickoff time is welcome as well, especially considering how often CU has been penciled into the early morning or nightcap slot over the last three years. Fans don’t have to alter their sleep schedule to watch the Buffs, which is an added bonus.
The Buffs are 7.5-point underdogs to the Sun Devils, but an upset could be on the table. Arizona State is injury-ravaged and has a massive rivalry game against Arizona the following weekend. Perhaps they’ll underestimate Julian Lewis and the Buffs ahead of the Territorial Cup? Only time will tell.
Make sure to keep up with us here at Ralphie Report for all your Colorado Buffaloes news in the run-up to gameday.
