Bayern not tracking Vinícius Júnior (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
According to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Real Madrid Vinícius Júnior is not on Bayern Munich’s transfer radar despite some reports to the contrary:
❌ It is NOT TRUE: Bayern Munich have Vinicius Jr on their list this summer in case the Brazilian is angling for an exit from Real Madrid. Yes, of course, a player like the 26-year-old would look really good in the Bayern Munich squad, but there’s no chance! Bayern won’t pay the salary, and they already have a complete offence between Harry Kane,
Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, Jamal Musiala, and, now, Ismael Saibari. Diaz certainly had a very good World Cup. So, respectfully, there’s no place for a player like Vini Jr. I also have to say that Bayern Munich have always been a little cautious about players who could negatively impact the dressing room atmosphere. This was the same with Cristiano Ronaldo, as it’s not just the massive wages you have to worry about but also the impact on squad culture. Bayern are a team that suits Harry Kane, for instance, as the Englishman is a team player to his very core, and this is the focus for Bayern Munich.
There have been rumors floating around, but this would seem like a very odd move for the Bavarians, even if there actually was some legitimacy to it. Some fans were thinking there could be a swap deal involving Michael Olise, but — as much as we love swap deals — this is very unlikely to happen.
Falk says Tuchel’s bottle job with England should have looked familiar to Bayern fans (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Anyone who watched Thomas Tuchel mismanage a 1-0 lead into a 2-1 loss for England against Argentina probably had some kind of flashback — and Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk can relate:
I watched Tuchel’s post-match interviews, and he was not in the mood to say, Okay, perhaps I made a mistake. You can’t help but wonder why they had so many defenders on the pitch at one time. I was just thinking, How on earth can they survive this match? It was the same when I was sitting at the Bernabeu when Bayern were playing, and I didn’t know how Bayern would manage to win the game playing an extra 30 minutes without Harry Kane, without Musiala, without Sane.
He’s effectively given his players the sign that England aren’t strong enough to play their own game and win their own way. It’s hard for a team. This time, Tuchel left Kane on the pitch – so he learned a little bit from the Champions League! But it was the wrong sign from the manager, and England gave away a huge chance to go to the World Cup final. There can be no excuse really when you’ve got that much talent on the bench – and this was the big difference between the Bayern match in 2024 (when Bayern didn’t have so many elite players on the bench to influence the game) and the England game on Wednesday night.
It remains to be seen how England fully assesses Tuchel. It could be a situation where he plays out his contract (through EURO 2028), unless he really gets off to a bad start within the next couple of international breaks.
Tuchel might not have helped himself much in the 3rd place game against France, after the Three Lions nearly hacked up a 4-0 lead before eventually winning 6-4. The lead up to the EUROs will tell us a lot about Tuchel’s progress with England.

Bayern Alumni: Nianzou joins Lille (Foot Mercato)
Former Bayern Munich defender Tanguy Nianzou has signed with Lille:
“The overwhelming emotion today is pure joy. I’m thrilled to have had this opportunity to sign with LOSC, which I believe is the ideal club for the next stage of my career and offers the perfect environment to develop. The most important thing for me is to regain my confidence, my smile, playing time, and thus be able to help the team win,” Nianzou said. “My discussions with the president have always been very clear. He told me upon my arrival that we work differently here; I’m here, too, to bring my own unique perspective. I’m also happy to be back in France , the country where I was born and where I learned to play football. I’m really looking forward to meeting my teammates and the fans. I’m a Dogue now, too!”
Nianzou might not hit those heights once expected of him, but he is putting together a nice career.
Barca chasing Porro? (ESPN)
FC Barcelona could be plotting a move for Spain right-back and Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro:
Tottenham Hotspur right back Pedro Porro has impressed Barcelona with his performances for Spain during the World Cup, reports Mundo Deportivo. In addition to scoring against Austria and France, the 26-year-old has built up a relationship with Lamine Yamal on Spain’s right-hand side. Spurs have already moved to extend his contract to 2031, though, so signing him is reportedly just “a pipe dream” for the Blaugrana. Their priority is re-signing João Cancelo from Al Hilal, and they will only sign a center back if Ronald Araújo leaves.
Bayern Munich was linked to Porro a few different times, but a move like that is very unlikely to happen for the Bavarians.
