Former UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, wants to fight on the UFC White House card in June.
Unfortunately for “Bones,” he may not be welcome at the landmark event, thanks to a well-documented history of reliability issues. In addition, UFC CEO, Dana White, may still have a bad taste in his mouth after getting jerked around by Jones for the better part of 2025, forcing matchmakers to book Tom Aspinall vs. Ciryl Gane for the 265-pound title
.A fight that was supposed to “get the division going”
but instead set it back even further.
That said, Jones may have an ally (or two) in the Oval Office. Eric Trump was a recent guest on the Full Send Podcast and expressed interest in having “Bones” compete on the White House Lawn. In addition, Trump also called for the return of former two-division champion, Conor McGregor, along with the addition of UFC middleweight, Bo Nickal.
“I mean, Jon Jones has to fight,” Trump said. “I would love to see him. I feel like he has one left in him, and if there’s ever one you’re going to do, it’s the White House. I think you’re going to see McGregor at that one. I know McGregor pretty well; he’s a great guy. There’s so much talent there right now. We have to have a good American showing on America’s birthday at the White House.”
It’s important to make a good impression for all those “dignitaries from around the world.”
“We’ve become pretty close to Bo Nickal; he’s a hell of a fighter,” Trump added. “This kid was undefeated at Penn State, a true American champ who goes into the Octagon and starts knocking people’s heads off. I’d like to see a couple of American kids who did really well in college, at the good American state schools.”
White and Co. are expected to begin assembling the UFC White House fight card in February.
