The Philadelphia Eagles signed cornerback Shaun Wade to their practice squad, according to an official team announcement on Thursday afternoon.
Wade, who turned 28 earlier this month, originally signed with the Eagles in mid-June. He spent all of training camp and preseason with the team before getting released in roster cuts down to 53 players in late August.
The Eagles had an open practice squad spot to fill after three departures this week:
- DT Gabe Hall was released.
- CB Robert Longerbeam signed to the Atlanta Falcons’ roster.
- S Maximus Pulley signed to the Los Angeles’ Rams’ roster.
The Eagles previously filled two of those three openings
by signing veterans Zach Ertz and Kenny Moore to the practice squad. Now Wade is back to put the practice squad at full capacity.
Wade had some struggles in coverage this summer but his hustle stood out in a good way. He forced three fumbles in three preseason games! Talk about a player who knows how to do the Peanut Punch.
