Barcelona have confirmed that World Cup winner Rodri has now officially completed a transfer to the club from Premier League side Manchester City.
An agreement was reached with City over the weekend, with Rodri then flying into Barcelona for a medical and to sign a four-year contract with the club.
Barca have reportedly paid an initial €60m for Rodri and could send up shelling out another €15m more on add-ons.
The transfer has now been made official and here’s how it was announced on social media.
Here’s the club’s official statement from Barcelona:
“FC Barcelona and Manchester City have reached an agreement for the transfer of Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, known in the football world as Rodri, who is committing to the Catalan club until 30 June 2030.”
Rodri will wear the No. 16 shirt at Barcelona and has already said he’s gunning for more silverware to add to his already stacked trophy cabinet.
Welcome to Barcelona, Rodri!
