Kyle Whittingham is bringing one of his very best to Ann Arbor with him, as cornerback Smith Snowden is set to transfer from Utah to Michigan.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound nickel corner played under Whittingham in Salt Lake City
the last three seasons. A four-star high school prospect in the 2023 class, Snowden saw immediate playing time and participated in 11 games as a true freshman. He then played in all 12 games (11 starts) as a sophomore in 2024, chipping in 48 tackles, four tackles for loss, eight pass breakups, two interceptions and one forced fumble.
Snowden started all 12 games for the Utes in 2025 and racked up 37 tackles, two tackles for loss, nine pass breakups and two interceptions. For his efforts, he was named a second-team All-Big 12 defensive player. He also saw playing time on offense and had 97 all-purpose yards and one rushing touchdown.
The Lehi, Utah native will have one year of eligibility left in college.
