What is the story about?
Revenge
of the Nerds Shift
- Mizzou-Oklahoma: Mizzou QB Beau Pribula may be back in action for this game, with the latest movement being listed as questionable. That will honestly decide if this is going to be a game or not, as the Tigers have been rudderless without him, to say the least.
- llvll-SMU: Someone is going to have to win the ACC, and while the tie between Pitt and Georgia Tech will be broken later Saturday, SMU needs a win to keep apace with the winner there and with UVA.
- Minnesota-Northwestern: The Wildcats can clinch bowl eligibility with a win here, which they very much deserve with their play this season. They’re by no means good and there are no bigger stakes at play here, but I’d like to see their hard-luck three game losing skid come to an end given how they’ve played this season.
- Harvard-Yale: This requires no explanation, but this one has bigger stakes than usual as the Crimson look to close out a perfect 8-0 regular season, but the Bulldogs are 5-1 in conference and could take the conference crown with a win.
The Legend of Zelda: Brawl of the Wild Shift
- USC-Oregon: A helmet matchup I’m not sure I need to say anything else about.
- Arkansas-Texas: Arkansas may very well be the worst team in the SEC, but as we’ve seen week in and week out they are very game and could be problematic for a Texas team that doesn’t quite have their ducks in a row.
- Duke-North Carolina: Bill needs to beat UNC’s two biggest rivals in succession to get to bowl eligibility in his first season. Good luck!
- Montana State-Montana: Watch THE BRAWL OF THE WILD. You will certainly not regret watching THE BRAWL OF THE WILD. You know it’s a good game because it’s called THE BRAWL OF THE WILD.
Swamp Streak Shift
- WKU-LSU: I am here to support the seniors and Frank Wilson.
- Tennessee-Florida: Tennessee hasn’t beaten Florida in the Swamp since 2003 and this will be their best chance to do so since then.
- Pitt-Georgia Tech: Finally, we’ll have some form of resolution within the ACC mess. If Georgia Tech wins, they’re in. If Pitt wins, then GT is discarded and we’ll go to the final week with the conference race.
- New Mexico-Air Force: Shining the light on the New Mexico Lobos, who in the first year of the Jason Eck tenure have easily cruised to bowl eligibility and are in the mix for a Mountain West Championship berth. They shouldn’t have much problem with Air Force, but we know how these service academy teams can be.
Robert Kekaula Memorial Shift
- Utah State-Fresno State: The Aggies are hunting bowl eligibility and the Bulldogs are looking to potentially lock into the Mountain West Championship, so both teams are going to be going for it.
- San Jose State-San Diego State: The Aztecs should be fine here, but given how our other watching option is…
- Washington-UCLA: yeah
