The Washington Mystics lost to the Dallas Wings, 92-69 on Monday night.
Let’s just say that this game was for all the Mystics’ naysayers out there. Washington has a young team that few would be willing to use. Washington was behind 38-29 at the half, even with the Mystics shooting somewhat better in the first half percentage wise.
In the third quarter, the bottom fell out for the Mystics as the Wings outscored them 28-17 in the period with Dallas shooting nearly 60 percent for the period. Both teams
shot well over 50 percent in the fourth quarter, but by then, the Wings had this game in hand.
For the Mystics, Shakira Austin led with 12 points. But for Dallas, Paige Bueckers led with 18 points and five players scored in double figures for the contest.
The Mystics’ next game is on the road against the Seattle Storm. Tip off is at 6 p.m. ET. See you then.
