As Kentucky Basketball frantically searches for frontcourt depth, a new name has emerged in the form of Florida Atlantic forward Devin Williams.
According to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Williams is set to have a Zoom call with Mark Pope on Friday.
A 6-10, 205-pound California native, Williams began his career at UCLA as a 4-star power forward recruit in the class of 2023. He played limited minutes in 10 games as a true freshman, then redshirted the following season before landing at FAU.
This past season,
Williams averaged 7.5 points on 50.1% shooting (30.6% on 1.5 3-point attempts per game), 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks across 23.8 minutes per game. He started in all 33 games he appeared in and finished tied for third nationally in blocks per game. He’ll have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
This looks like a potential depth addition in the frontcourt, ideally as a backup 5 behind Malachi Moreno. Williams played mostly at the 5 but occasionally got minutes at the 4.
