People say bad things come in threes, but this time, it’s just a pair – hopefully.
In two separate basketball games Friday, players made shots at the wrong basket.
In the first one, after a teammate passed the ball to her after Arkansas scored a basket, Northwestern State’s Karma Wynn was heading towards that same basket and got an understandably easy layup.
Fortunately, her shot was very early in the game and in the end didn’t much matter, since Arkansas won, 89-59.
The second was not so inconsequential.
Southern Utah’s Denver Anderson made a bad inbounds pass that was picked off by New Mexico State’s Emma Christiano, who took it straight in for a layup in the wrong basket.
Her mistake was considerably worse, because it gave Southern Utah a three-point lead with about 20 seconds left in the game. Fortunately, her teammate, Stacy Chovino, bailed her out, hitting two more shots for the Aggies to nail down a wild finish.
