According to Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have released quarterback Sam Ehlinger. The former sixth-round 2021 NFL Draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts, he had signed with the Broncos in free agency earlier this year.
Ehlinger saw some regular
season action over his four-year career completing 64/101 for 573 yards and an even three touchdowns with three interceptions. He also has 96 yards on the ground. This preseason, Ehlinger has been solid in every game. If not for Jarrett Stidham’s incredible preseason performance, we’d be talking about Ehlinger being a potential #2 type quarterback. Either way, as a vested veteran, he won’t be subject to any waiver process and is free to sign elsewhere now.
