The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released their second injury report of the week Thursday as preparations continue for Sunday’s NFC South matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
There was some encouraging news for Tampa Bay, as outside linebacker Yaya Diaby (illness) and linebacker Josiah Trotter (illness) were both upgraded to full participation after being limited and sidelined, respectively, during Wednesday’s practice.
Running back Kenny Gainwell (hip) also showed improvement, returning to practice in a limited
capacity after sitting out Wednesday.
However, offensive tackle Luke Goedeke (calf) remained sidelined for a second consecutive day, leaving his availability for Sunday’s game uncertain. Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (concussion/foot) was limited for the second straight practice as he continues working through his injuries.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield (right thumb) and safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (rib) remained full participants Thursday, providing some positive signs for the Buccaneers on both sides of the ball.
Wide receivers Chris Godwin Jr. and running back Bucky Irving did not practice due to scheduled rest, while defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson was limited for the same reason.
Meanwhile, Atlanta saw several players return to practice Thursday. Defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. (hamstring) and linebacker Divine Deablo (forearm) were both upgraded to limited participation after missing Wednesday’s session. Defensive end Za’Darius Smith also returned in a limited capacity after receiving a rest day Wednesday.
Running back Brian Robinson (hamstring) remained the Falcons’ lone non-participant Thursday due to injury. Atlanta continued to have several players limited, including defensive end Samson Ebukam (hamstring), offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor (hamstring) and wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus (shoulder).
Both teams will release their final injury reports Friday, providing a clearer picture of which players could be unavailable for Sunday’s matchup.
The Buccaneers (2-5) will look to build on last week’s 43-13 victory over Carolina when they host the Falcons (3-4) at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, November 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
