Max Caster had a rough night on AEW Collision (Aug. 23, 2025). Not only was he tapping out in pain from a NJPW champion, but he was then pummeled by an enraged Anthony Bowens. Life isn’t easy for the Best Wrestler Alive.
Platinum Max ran his mouth about being the Best Wrestler Alive. Enter Zack Sabre Jr. for the international open challenge opponent in Glasgow, Scotland. The IWGP world heavyweight champion twisted Caster into a submission victory on an abdominal stretch. Caster lost the match, but
he can proudly say that Sabre didn’t survive five with the Best Wrestler Alive. Sabre earned the win with 2:37 remaining on the clock.
Sabre sauntered over for a staredown with his Forbidden Door opponent. It looked like two brothers in a mirror when Sabre confronted Nigel McGuinness.
The drama didn’t end there. Anthony Bowens attacked Caster. Jealousy surged through Bowens’ veins about Max’s popularity. When the fans chanted, “Let’s go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive,” Bowens doubled down with punishment. Billy Gunn arrived to check Bowens. Don’t step to Daddy Ass. Bowens backed off.
The latest chapter in the ongoing saga between The Acclaimed continues the fun. Sabre had a showcase for the fans while hyping his PPV bout, Caster entertained in defeat, and Bowens is veering into heel territory.
