The Los Angeles Rams’ third kicker of this season is veteran free agent Brandon McManus. Technically, McManus will be the fourth because punter Ethan Evans kicked a PAT last week after Blake Grupe tore his ACL, but in any case the Rams continue to cycle through kickers like most people go through Brita filters.
McManus is signing with the L.A. Rams immediately after he beat out Matt Prater in an audition for the job on Tuesday. He is set to be the Rams’ kicker against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
This will officially be the 13th season of McManus’s career.
An undrafted free agent out of Temple in 2014, McManus spent his first nine years with the Denver Broncos, and he made 81.4% of his field goal attempts. He kicked for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023, then the Green Bay Packers in 2024 and 2025. He was 20-of-21 over 11 games with Green Bay last season.
McManus immediately replaces Grupe and the recently-released Harrison Mevis. If he fails or gets injured, it looks like Prater could be the next man up and fans shouldn’t put it past L.A. to continue making moves at kicker this season. The only question is, when will this madness be settled with a real kicker?
