A June 27th super welterweight title fight is soon approaching as Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis challenges unified champion Xander Zayas for his belts, and in the lead up to the the fight Matchroom takes fans behind the scenes of Boots in camp.
“I’m just excited to be fighting a guy that got two belts, a guy that’s one of the top in the division. I’m ready to shut everybody up,” Boots says. “I’m expecting him to do what he always do and I’m going to capitalize on every mistake that he make and I’m going to show
him why I’m really like that.”
Trainer Bozy Ennis shared some of his own insights into the preparations for this fight, believing the onus will be on Zayas to come at his very best.
“I want to see Xander take Boots to another level,” Bozy would say of the matchup. “People still ain’t seen what really he can do. He can box, he can move — but he like to rumble. That’s what people come pay to see. He like to fight. ”
Even still, Bozy takes no credit away from the champion.
“I like Xander as a fighter, he’s a good fighter, man,” Bozy assessed. “To me, he got a good jab, he can box and he got [heart].”
