South Carolina three-star defensive tackle Dennis Glenn Jr. has decided to decommit to the Scarlet Knights, according to an announcement he made on his social media accounts. The 6-foot-1, 285-pound prospect announced his commitment on June 7 before decommitting on Oct. 29.
Glenn plays his high school ball for Boiling Springs High School down in South Carolina. He is a multi-talented athlete, playing basketball and running track and field in addition to football.
Glenn’s original commitment came together
pretty quickly, with Rutgers not getting involved with him until May 21st, when they sent out their scholarship offer. Rutgers originally beat out several other Power Four programs to land his commitment, including Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Georgia, NC State, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.
With his decommitment, Glenn becomes the fourth decommit from Rutgers in the 2027 class, with Connor Winn, Zion Vilma, and Josiah Sturdivant deciding to look elsewhere after originally committing.
Glenn is rated as a high three-star by both Rivals and 247Sports.
According to a report from Brian Fonseca of NJ.com, Glenn opted to decommit because of the unclear situation surrounding the future of the coaching staff.
“The uncertainty of the coaching staff, and how long they will be there was what ultimately helped me make my decision,” Glenn Jr. said in a statement to NJ.com. “They still feel pretty strongly that they’ll be there, but I had to make the decision for myself.”
