Bayern Munich star winger Michael Olise has developed into one of the world’s most dangerous attacking players.
After a breakout season in 2024/25, Olise has only gotten better during the 2025/26 campaign. With 16 goals and 29 assists in 41 games across all competitions, Olise is just as lethal a goal-scorer as he is a playmaker.
While Real Madrid has been rumored to like Olise (a lot), watching his performance in Bayern Munich’s 2-1 win in Champions League at the Bernabéu on Tuesday has its interest
piqued even more, per a report from Bild journalists Christian Falk, Julian Agardi, Nico Linner, Heiko Niederderer, and Johannes Bernese (as captured by Goal):
Real Madrid are increasingly impressed with Michael Olise after their 2-1 Champions League quarter-final loss to Bayern Munich, according to BILD.
According to club watcher Christian Falk, Los Blancos’ interest has only intensified since their direct encounter with Olise in the Champions League.
Olise is under contract at Bayern until mid-2029, with Transfermarkt valuing him at €140m.
Real Madrid will therefore have to dig deep into their pockets to secure the services of the 15-time international. Reports from Munich suggest that Olise is not allowed to leave, even for €200 million.
Given how good Olise has been this season, it is no shock that Olise would be very appealing to Real Madrid. However, there is virtually no shot that Bayern Munich would be open to even considering a sale of the Frenchman.
Right now, you could argue that Olise, Harry Kane, and Luis Díaz is not only the most dominant attack in today’s game, but maybe in the history of Bayern Munich as a club.
So, Real Madrid might like Olise and it might want Olise, but it is all window shopping until Bayern Munich decided to sell the winger…and that is not happening any time soon.
Song of the Week: “Ride the Lightning” by Metallica
It is a Metallica kind of day, so let’s go all the way back to 1984 and the group’s second studio album, which has the same title as our featured song. It’s time to headbang:
Entertainment Rundown
This is my current list as noted in the Midweek Warm-up (and I am so damn behind):
- Invincible, season four: New season is out, but I thought it started to trail off at the end of the last season. I will start it and see where it goes, though.
- Daredevil: Born Again, season two: I am most eager to see this because this season will likely determine how motivated I am to stick with it moving forward.
- DTF St. Louis, limited series: I should have jumped on this from the beginning.
- The Boys, season five: Was a big fan of the early seasons. Last season it hit a wall and was far less interesting. Admittedly, I don’t have high hopes for this.
The Punisher: One Last Kill
I am a well-known sucker for content on The Punisher, so to see Jon Bernthal reprise the role, was an automatic “Yes” for me. Here is the latest trailer:
Funny enough, I can get on board with several iterations of The Punisher. Bernthal is probably, my favorite, but Thomas Jane (2004 – movie) and Ray Stevenson (2008 – movie) were also great in the role, but Dolph Lundgren (1989 – movie)…eh, not so much.
Podcast Appearance — Magazines and Monsters
If you are looking for some entertainment, I will be be appearing on an episode of the Magazines and Monsters Podcast where we break down the 80s classic, The Lost Boys. The links to the episode are here:
Hosted by one of our great BFW readers and BPW listeners Billy D., also known as “Doc Strange,” (@BiLLYd_licious on X) the podcast dives into material from the Silver, Bronze, and Copper Ages of comics, often highlighting older or overlooked issues, storylines, and creators. In addition to comics, the show frequently examines classic horror, science fiction, and fantasy films, particularly those from the mid-20th century through the 1980s, including cult favorites and productions from studios like Hammer. Episodes typically feature relaxed, long-form conversations between the host and guests, offering detailed analysis, personal reflections, and enthusiastic appreciation of the topics.
I had a blast doing this episode and taking a nice stroll back through the 80s classic.
Predictions
Another “look ahead” game is upon us and, yes, this one should feature a heavy rotation as well. All that said, St. Pauli does not offer much of a threat to the Bavarians.
This game represents a chance for the Bavarians to both get rest for regulars and given an opportunity to some players who need minutes. The only regret here is that not enough young players are healthy enough to take advantage of the time that will be available.
Prediction: St. Pauli 0-3 Bayern Munich
Other Bundesliga predictions include:
- Borussia Dortmund 3-2 Bayer Leverkusen
- Mainz 05 1-2 SC Freiburg
- RB Leipzig 3-0 Borussia Mönchengladbach
- VfB Stuttgart 2-1 Hamburger SV
- VfL Wolfsburg 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
- FC Augsburg 1-2 Hoffenheim
- Heidenheim 1-1 Union Berlin
- FC Köln 2-1 Werder Bremen
