Caleb Douglas was selected in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft by new Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan. At the time, many fans, reporters and national draft pundits called the pick a “reach” while saying that Douglas could have been available much later.
Well, one week into the regular season, those same naysayers are now singing the praises of Miami’s rookie receiver.
Douglas was one of four rookies nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award which can be voted on by fans via Instagram
or X.
The former Texas Tech product kickstarted his professional career by nabbing five balls for 94 yards — the most ever for a Dolphins rookie wide receiver in his first NFL game. His 94 receiving yards also tied the mark set by Tyreek Hill in 2022 for the most receiving yards by a Dolphins receiver in his first game with the team.
Not too shabby, rook.
Voting will end in less than two days, so if you want to help Douglas defeat the likes of Antonio Williams of the Washington Commanders, Josiah Trotter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Anthony Hill Jr. of the Tennesee Titans, click on the poll above and get to work!
