Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA! Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Indiana fans and fans across the country.
Indiana men’s basketball is the caliber of program that, given factors like available funding and fan support, should make the NCAA Tournament on a yearly basis.
The Hoosiers haven’t strung together back-to-back tournament appearances since the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Don’t want to count that First Four appearance? Sure, then it’s 2015 and 2016.
That’s over a decade now, by the way. Grim!
Indiana’s first season under Darian DeVries ended without receiving a bid after a late collapse. DeVries responded by reloading through the transfer portal to fix the issues present on that first roster, adding ample size in the frontcourt and quickness in the backcourt.
This roster reportedly cost just shy of $20 million to assemble. Other programs in that range have spent the past several seasons competing for national championships, not tournament appearances. On top of that, the field is now (ugh) at 76 teams!
With all of that in mind, will Indiana make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2023 next March? Cast your vote below:
