Tessa Blanchard enters the record books as the winner of TNA’s first-ever women’s Bunkhouse Match, and she did so in violent fashion on Impact (Apr. 2, 2026).
Blanchard took her lumps battling Jody Threat. The Wild Child hit a vicious powerbomb onto the apron.
It wouldn’t be a Bunkhouse Match without cowbell. Blanchard executed a brutal dropkick to Threat’s head into a chair. Ignore how long Threat waited
in that position, and savor the impact. Threat would have payback with cowbell shots to the head. Threat then grabbed a cable to hogtie Blanchard for a stretching choke across the turnbuckles. This method of torture is pretty creative.
In the end, Blanchard was determined to win. She whipped Threat with her belt, then she snatched the referee’s belt to wrap around Threat’s neck to choke. The Wild Child showed fortitude to hit her Pop Shove It finisher while still being choked. Blanchard maintained her grip on the belt. She used the apron edge as leverage to choke the breath out of Threat. The referee ruled that Threat passed out.
Even though the Bunkhouse Match didn’t have blood, that was still a violent affair. The creativity was interesting, and Blanchard was downright mean on the finish. That is how to make a statement when winning a Bunkhouse Match.
