The 2025 NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 4th, at 3 PM Central time. While buyers and sellers are not as much of a thing in the NFL as they are in MLB, the Tennessee Titans should absolutely be a seller at this deadline. They should be looking to move anyone who they don’t think will be able to help them in the 2027 season. That’s the first year they really have a chance to be a legitimate contender.
Jeremy Fowler put out a list this morning of the top 25 players that could be moved at the NFL
trade deadline. There are three members of the Titans on the list: Arden Key, Roger McCreary, and Chig Okonkwo. They should absolutely move Key. He is in the last year of a three-year deal that he signed back in 2023. He has 14 sacks in his 2+ seasons with the Titans. He’ll be 30 when the 2026 season starts.
It’s a little more complicated with McCreary and Okonkwo. Both guys are in the final year of their rookie deals. The Titans could probably get decent value for them in a trade, but trading them creates more holes on a roster already full of holes. At some point, you have to re-sign some guys.
Chad Brinker preached draft, develop, and retain this offseason. McCreary and Okonkwo are both prime candidates to get a second contract with the Titans. In fact, they were on a very short list of players that the Titans should have considered extending this offseason. Neither guy is a Pro Bowl level player, but they are solid pieces that could help them upgrade the overall talent of the roster.
Calvin Ridley earned an honorable mention on the list. Ridley still has two more years on the contract he signed last year, but there is an out after this year, where they could release him and save around $10 million against the 2026 cap. My guess is that is what will happen if they don’t trade him before the deadline.
