It’s official — we have entered Stefon Diggs Watch here at Buffalo Rumblings.
Not because there have been any substantiated reports.
But because of social media.
For as silly as that may seem, social media is still what connects society today, and it’s the driving force of all (sports) news around the world.
Also, given Diggs’ long history of cryptic social media posts, investigating through this medium is certainly appropriate.
Earlier today, I detailed the specifics of a Diggs-Dion Dawkins comment exchange
on a very recent Dawkins Instagram post.
Now there’s a new wrinkle to this ongoing story.
On what is believed to be his “personal” account, @ineedtherapyfrr, Diggs posted a three-slide video of highlights with the Bills — a back-shoulder catch against the Buccaneers, a screen that went for a big play against the Bengals, and a touchdown he scored later in that game.
The caption Diggs used with this post was “… back then”
Next, he posted a video from Bills practice of him playing cornerback in a one-on-one situation against Levi Wallace, a flip-the-script rep in which Diggs actually broke up a pass on a slant before an eruption from his teammates.
The caption on that post was:
“Til this day I firmly stand on… I could have played DB! Ask any corner I played with 😂😂😂 they would of got this same treatment”
Interesting, right? Coincidence or not?
You can be the judge.
I, personally, find it pretty intriguing, especially what transpired with the Dawkins post from his @stefondiggs IG account — Diggs almost assuredly knows what’s been rumored about him at the moment.
Right when this rumor feels like it may have some legs… I have to “report” this as well — soon after the posting of his rep as a cornerback at Bills practice, Diggs posted a video of a grab he made as a member of the Patriots last season with the caption “When I first caught my rhythm ….”
Diggs, on brand, staying cryptic on social media.
It’s hard to doubt Diggs can still play — but for the time being, until there’s a credible report with any information about Diggs’ potential next team, we’re going to have to just keep our eyes peeled on his socials and other members of the Bills on this matter.
