The Cleveland Browns received a bit of good news on Saturday regarding the game-day roster for Sunday’s key divisional game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Starting right tackle Tytus Howard, who was originally listed as questionable while dealing with a concussion, cleared the league-mandated concussion protocol on Saturday and can play on Sunday.
That means the Browns will be at full strength on the offensive line as they look to break a 23-year, regular-season losing streak to the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
Starting cornerback Myles Harden is still questionable, however, as he is dealing with a hamstring injury, which could test Cleveland’s depth in the secondary if Harden is not able to go.
The Browns appear to be confident, however, as they only made one practice squad elevation for the game, and that was to elevate rookie tight end Carsen Ryan from the practice squad.
Ryan was released prior to the game against the Tennessee Titans to open a roster spot for running back Dylan Sampson to return from injured reserve, and subsequently signed back with the Browns to their practice squad.
The seventh-round selection from BYU has played in six games for the Browns, but has only played two snaps on offense, registering no stats, and 73 snaps on special teams, making one tackle.
Pittsburgh made a pair of roster moves on Saturday, signing wide receiver Brandon Smith to the 53-man roster from the practice squad, and elevating wide receiver Brandon Johnson from the practice squad.
