Sean Strickland is back in the gym one day after getting into a horrific off-road vehicle accident in the Nevada desert.
Strickland posted video of the accident on his Instagram account and detailed how a friend rolled his side-by-side UTV several times going 60 miles per hour. In a clip he made shortly after the accident he detailed how he bounced his head off the ground without a helmet and felt like he had a concussion.
The driver of the vehicle collapsed immediately after the crash and was taken
to the hospital. Strickland went home, posted some videos, and took a nap, leaving some worrying that he wouldn’t wake up. But “Tarzan” was back at it a few hours later, posting more content from the accident.
A day later, and he posted a photo back in the gym, apparently training.
That’s good news for the UFC, who are having some trouble keeping the tops of their major cards stocked with title fights. Middleweight champion Strickland is expected to rematch No. 1 contender Nassourdine Imavov sometime in the near future, and a concussion would have messed those chances up.
We haven’t heard anything from Sean regarding a concussion diagnosis, but he did share a document he received from the UFC Performance Institute releasing the staff from any liability stemming from dangerous activities undertaken by the adrenaline junkie champ. So they’re clearly aware of his shenanigans and have interacted with him since the accident.
It’s just another week for Sean Strickland: situation normal, all f—ked up.
