Bayern Munich announced contract extensions for Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson in a release on the club website:
Two big names are staying on board! FC Bayern Women have agreed contract extensions
with Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson until 30 June 2028. The attacker and the defender have been linchpins of the team since moving to the Bavarian capital together in 2023. They’ve won two Bundesliga titles with the defending double winners as well as one DFB Cup and two Supercup titles.
Director of women’s football Bianca Rech was thrilled to bring back both players.
“We’re delighted to give the fans this special Christmas present – the extension with Magda and Pernille is a statement for FC Bayern. Both are real role models with their professionalism every day. Magda takes responsibility, leads the team and communicates openly, while Pernille impresses as more of a quiet leader. Their decision to continue with us shows their desire to keep writing the success story here at FC Bayern. Our joint ambition is to keep progressing in Europe and maintain our number one position in Germany,” Rech said.
As for Harder, it was an easy decision to ink the contract extension.
“The decision to stay here was quite easy for me. We’ve made great progress over the last two and a half years and our potential is far from exhausted, which is why I’m looking forward with anticipation to what’s ahead. FC Bayern means a great deal to me,” Harder said. “From the start I’ve felt like part of a big family, which I want to continue to being part of. I value my teammates, the dedicated team behind the scenes and the loyal fans who support us in every situation. My ambition is to keep winning the Bundesliga and the cup, and get closer to winning the Champions League with Bayern.”
Eriksson was also excited to get her deal done.
“I’m very happy, pleased and looking forward to everything to come. Munich has become a home away from home for me, with a strong feeling of family and being welcome, carried by the team, the city and our magnificent fans. Their support is endless, no matter the place or result. My goal for the future is to achieve everything with this team, both in Germany and in Europe. I’ll give my best every day to do that,” Eriksson stated.
