We are just about 4 hours away from the kickoff of the first Purdue football game of the 2026 season. The 2025 season is in the rearview window and that’s not us anymore. We don’t need to worry about that team or those guys because this team is not that team and we are not that school. Or something like that. Trying to find some balance here between remembering the past, learning from it, and yet not letting us define us.
So this week I’ve got a national result to share as well and I’ll start with
that one. The national site posted a question about who would win the CFP. Only a few teams were listed and the option of the field was also given. Here are those results.
Taking the field always seems like a good idea and that’s the winner here. Notre Dame, ugh, comes in second place. Surprised honestly that IU was not a choice, that will only further fuel Curt Cignetti.
Up next, where are we watching tonight’s game against the Sycamores? Let’s check the results.
The vast majority of readers, 56%, said they are watching the game at home with friends. I love the friendship blossoming here and I hope you all have a great time. However, would love that in person event to increase from 13% and I hope that maybe getting some wins would help that. I am surprised that 28% said they won’t be watching but I assume part of that is because the game is on a Friday night so let’s hope that number goes up for week 2.
