When WWE and USA Network made Friday Night SmackDown a two hour show, that obviously made time on television a premium. It’s noteworthy, then, when wrestlers are relegated to the land of digital exclusives, which are just videos posted to the company social channels.
This week, we’ve got Baron Corbin, Ricky Saints, and Blake Monroe.
First, we get Corbin cutting a promo claiming Trick Williams was running from him when he won a qualifier for the Money in the Bank ladder match. He congratulated the reigning
United States champion before finishing with “all roads lead to me.” I don’t think they do.
Next, Saints showed up in the locker room to make fun of Rey Fenix just after he lost in the aforementioned Money in the Bank qualifier. Saints talks trash about Fenix losing, his brother Penta losing to Roman Reigns on Raw, and more. Then he claims he’s going to take the AAA Cruiserweight World Championship before Fenix finally hauls off and pops him in the mouth.
Finally, Monroe, whose entire WWE career feels like it’s taken place in digital exclusive form, spoke on her recovery from mouth surgery and vowing to get revenge against Giulia, who she claims is as irrelevant as she’s ever been outside of what Monroe gives her:
Blake using “I am an empath” as a heel is top notch stuff.
All three of the wrestlers here are talented enough to be doing this on TV, and will clearly be back there soon enough. For now, though, you’ll have to do the extra work to enjoy their stuff.
