Bayern Munich multi-purpose youngster Tom Bischof did not get selected for the German national team during this international break, but he did report to Germany’s U-21 side where he acted as the captain.
Bischof is keeping his eyes on the prize, though, and is still aiming to make Germany’s World Cup side — a tough task, but not one that is impossible given the situation in the central midfield.
“Of course I have hope, it would be terrible if I didn’t. I haven’t booked a vacation yet. I would be delighted
to be included. And that’s what I’m working towards, of course. If you perform well at Bayern, you have a good chance of being called up. I had contact with Julian Nagelsmann. But that remains between us. It’s his decision,” said Bischof (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bischof’s main problem is that he does not play in the central midfield much for Bayern Munich and if he wants any chance for a roster spot, he will have to get some minutes there. Otherwise, Nagelsmann will likely look elsewhere.
