“Notorious” is an underdog — at least for now.
The long-awaited return of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) double champion Conor McGregor is once again picking up steam, with rumors pointing toward a blockbuster rematch against former Featherweight and BMF titleholder Max Holloway at UFC 329 during International Fight Week this summer inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And if the early betting lines are any indication, oddsmakers aren’t exactly siding with the Irish superstar.
According
to BetOnline, McGregor has opened as a +235 underdog, while Holloway sits comfortably as a -270 favorite — and within a couple of hours, the line juiced to +270 and -330
The line makes sense on paper. McGregor hasn’t competed since UFC 264 in 2021, where he suffered a gruesome leg break against Dustin Poirier. Since then, he’s been on the sidelines dealing with injuries, outside ventures, and legal issues — though he’s recently claimed a renewed focus on fighting through religion.
Meanwhile, Holloway has stayed active against elite competition. Despite a tough loss to Charles Oliveira in March 2026 that cost him his BMF title, “Blessed” has competed eight times during McGregor’s absence and remains one of the most durable and high-volume strikers in the sport.
The two first met back in 2013, with McGregor earning a unanimous decision win despite tearing his ACL mid-fight. It marked Holloway’s final loss before a historic run that saw him win 13 straight and capture the Featherweight title by stopping Jose Aldo twice.
Now, more than a decade later, they could run it back — at very different stages of their careers.
