Matchday 13 is where it starts to feel real. The margins tighten, the goals don’t always flow as freely, and suddenly every Fantasy decision carries extra weight.
Clean sheets become harder to trust, rotation risks creep in, and yet—this is also where the big hitters step up.
The round of 16 gave us goals in abundance, but the quarter-finals tend to reward balance: a mix of reliable ball recovery merchants, explosive midfielders, and forwards who don’t need many chances to deliver.
With that in mind,
here’s a carefully built 3-4-3 setup for UCL Fantasy Matchday 13—leaning into form, fixtures, and players who can still return even when games get tight.
Goalkeeper
David Raya (£5.5m)
It’s not the easiest fixture on paper, but Raya’s Champions League numbers are hard to ignore. Six clean sheets in nine appearances is elite at this stage, and he’s shown he can deliver away from home too. Even if Arsenal don’t shut Sporting out completely, Raya’s save potential keeps his floor relatively safe.
Defenders
Willian Pacho (£5.0m)
If you’re chasing reliability, Pacho is about as safe as it gets. His ball recovery numbers are ridiculous, and at this stage of the competition, that consistency matters. Even without a clean sheet, he’s more than capable of ticking over with 5–7 points.
Dávid Hancko (£4.5m)
Hancko falls into that same category—steady, dependable, and quietly effective. Against a Barcelona side that will dominate possession, he should have plenty of opportunities to rack up recoveries. Not flashy, but very useful.
Riccardo Calafiori (£4.6m)
A bit more of a calculated gamble here. With Arsenal dealing with defensive absences, Calafiori should see more minutes, and he’s already shown flashes—an assist, a clean sheet, and solid defensive involvement in limited time. If he starts, he offers upside at a bargain price.
Midfielders
Vinícius Júnior (£9.6m)
This is where things get serious. Vinícius has been electric in the knockout rounds, and his recent output suggests he’s only just getting started. Bayern’s away defensive record doesn’t inspire much confidence either, which only boosts his appeal.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (£8.2m)
Three goals, an assist, and two Player of the Match awards in the last round—it doesn’t get much better than that. Kvaratskhelia is in the kind of form where he can decide ties on his own, and against Liverpool, he’ll be central to everything PSG do going forward.
Lamine Yamal (£9.9m)
Yamal continues to look like he belongs on this stage. His ability to stretch defences and create moments out of nothing makes him a constant threat, especially at home. With Atletico visiting, expect him to be heavily involved again.
Fermín López (£6.7m)
This is where the value comes in. Fermín has quietly built a very strong campaign, especially at home, where most of his attacking returns have come. If Barcelona score, there’s a good chance he’s involved in some capacity.
Forwards
Harry Kane (£10.8m)
If you’re picking one premium striker this week, it’s Kane. He’s consistent, he’s on penalties, and he tends to deliver in big games. With Real Madrid in front of him, he’ll get chances—and he doesn’t need many.
Viktor Gyökeres (£9.0m)
Form matters, and Gyökeres has plenty of it right now. Goals for both club and country in recent matches suggest he’s sharp, confident, and ready to punish any defensive lapses. He’s a strong differential option with real upside.
Ousmane Dembélé (£9.6m)
Dembélé feels like one of those players who can explode on any given night—and right now, he’s actually delivering end product to match the threat. With three goals and two assists in his last five outings, he’s hitting form at exactly the right time.
