My Week 8 Picks
(Bye: New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, New Orleans Saints)
Carolina Panthers @ Green Bay Packers — Thurs., 8:15 p.m. ET
Green Bay needs to win this game more than Carolina because the Packers already have 3 NFC losses. A fourth loss before the season’s halfway point would significantly shrink their playoffs odds. Meanwhile, I think Carolina is beginning to fall back to earth and Atlanta may be on the rise in the NFC South.
My Pick: Packers 31-23
Arizona Cardinals @ Dallas Cowboys — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
Loser of this game will be looking at their season effectively being over. Something tells me it will be a shootout between LaFleur and Schottenheimer.
My Pick: Cowboys 30-27
Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
The Falcons should win this game but the Buccaneers might be desperate to climb back into the unpredictable NFC South.
My Pick: Falcons 24-20
Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
If Joe Burrow was able to hang 35 points on the Ravens, imagine what Josh Allen will be able to do…
My Pick: Bills 41-27
Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
Browns and Steelers already meet again. This time, Steelers get the home win with Aaron Rodgers turning back the clock.
My Pick: Steelers 20-17 (OT)
Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
Another division game. But Jacksonville has had the opportunity to rest up during its bye and prepare for a pivotal AFC South matchup. And it does not hurt that Trevor Lawrence is playing like a top 5 quarterback in the NFL.
My Pick: Jaguars 28-23
Las Vegas Raiders @ New York Jets — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
Aaron Glenn is as good as gone.
My Pick: Raiders 25-17
Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
Minnesota is the last unbeaten team remaining in the NFL. But that will come to an end in Week 8. Brian Flores might be able to dial up some blitzes on Jared Goff but covering Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Sam LaPorta is a tall order.
My Pick: Lions 26-20
Tennessee Titans @ Cincinnati Bengals — Sun., 1:00 p.m. ET
Robert Saleh might be able to limit Zac Taylor’s offense but the Titans offense is still a step slow in 2026.
My Pick: Bengals 24-13
Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos @ Sun., 4:25 p.m. ET
The Chiefs offense got silenced in Sunday Night Football against the Seahawks. Denver’s defense is also strong and this game should be different compared to Week 1 because Sean Payton is now calling plays.
My Pick: Broncos 20-16
New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins — Sun., 4:25 p.m. ET
Drake Maye will probably throw 4 or 5 touchdowns and the media will think he deserves MVP. Seriously though…
My Pick: Patriots 42-9
Los Angeles Chargers @ Los Angeles Rams— Sun., 4:25 p.m. ET
The Rams cannot take this game lightly. The Chargers have yet to get their first win and anytime searching for a win is dangerous.
My Pick: Rams 27-23
Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Commanders — Sun., 8:20 p.m. ET
NFL should have flexed this game. Embarrassing to put an NFC “L-east” game on Sunday Night Football.
My Pick: Commanders 23-17
Chicago Bears @ Seattle Seahawks — Mon., 8:15 p.m. ET
Ben Johnson vs. Mike Macdonald will be a fun watch. Leaning into the run game is imperative to beat the Seahawks defense. Having a mobile quarterback will also come in handy. I’ll go with Chicago since Ben Johnson has had two weeks to prepare.
My Pick: Bears 18-14
