Bayern Munich used a heavy rotation to smash VfB Stuttgart 5-0 in the Bundesliga, but in truth, it was the inclusion of some normal starters that incited the goal-scoring riot.
Still, it was a big step
for head coach Vincent Kompany, who — at times — has struggled to embrace using his normal subs in starting roles. The rotation was good and effective and the Bavarians were in control even with a lineup of bench players.
All in all…it was a very solid showing.
What were your takeaways from the match? Here are few that leapt off the screen to us:
- Harry Kane is incredible.
- Kane is so good at so many things, but he’s still at his best in the final third.
- Bayern Munich is settling into a starting pairing of Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlović.
- Leon Goretzka is playing like a guy who knows like the end is near and does not know how to handle it.
- Kompany might really not trust Tom Bischof.
- Jonas Urbig can be the next one.
