The Milwaukee Brewers, fresh off a solid 7-5 win, are set to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks for the second game of a four-game set on Tuesday night.
Jacob Misiorowski gets the ball this evening, as he’s coming off a pair of erratic starts against the Reds and Cubs. In total, he’s allowed eight runs over 5 1/3 innings (13.50 ERA) in those two outings, as the Brewers were able to escape with a big comeback win over the Reds but weren’t able to do the same against the Cubs last week. As was the case
for much of Miz’s minor league career, the issue has been his command, as he’s walked six and hit another batter in his last two appearances.
Miz will face off against Brandon Pfaadt, a third-year righty who, if you’ll recall, went 2 2/3 innings against the Brewers in the 2022 NL Wild Card Series that the Crew ultimately lost.
Before we get to the lineups, here are a few injury updates provided by Adam McCalvy this afternoon:
- Jackson Chourio: Scheduled to continue his rehab assignment in Nashville tonight with 7 innings in the OF. Potential to return during the TOR or PHI series (this weekend).
- Joey Ortiz: Currently completing a sprint progression up to 85% intensity, as well as defensive/hitting work. Goal of returning for PHI series.
- Rhys Hoskins: Continuing rehab assignment in Nashville tonight (8/26, 9 innings at 1B). Projected early September return.
- Rob Zastryzny: Late August/early September
- Grant Anderson: Early September
- DL Hall: Late September
- Logan Henderson: Late September/early October
In the lineup, we’ve got Brice Turang back in the leadoff spot, followed by William Contreras and Christian Yelich, who starts at DH. Andrew Vaughn bats fourth, followed by Sal Frelick, Isaac Collins, Anthony Seigler (at third), Blake Perkins, and Andruw Monasterio (at shortstop).
First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. CT on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
