Penn State has a host of players at the Senior Bowl this week — Kaytron Allen, Dani Dennis-Sutton, Zane Durant, Zakee Wheatley, and Nicholas Singleton are all representing the blue and white in Mobile, Alabama, Unfortunately for Nick Singleton though, his week has come to an end. He got hurt during Thursday’s practice, with Rich Scarcella of the Reading Eagle confirming with Nick’s dad that Nick broke his foot.
It’s a real bummer for Singleton who was hoping to have a strong draft process coming out of a frustrating final season with the Nittany Lions. Singleton only ran for 549 yards on 4.5 yards-per-carry, so events like the Senior Bowl, NFL Draft Combine, and Penn State’s Pro Day were going to serve as platforms for Singleton to showcase his unique size and speed. Obviously with a broken foot, that means he won’t be able to workout as he undergoes surgery next week that will keep him on the shelf for quite a while.
