The Jacksonville Jaguars’ starters will not be playing preseason football this week, head coach Liam Coen said Tuesday after Day 11 of training camp. But that shouldn’t overshadow the fact that — for the first time in seven months — we’ll be watching truly competitive Jaguars football on Saturday, when the team travels to face the New Orleans
Saints in their first of three preseason games.
“When we do one-on-ones and stuff, that’s not football to me,” said Coen. “It’s a part of football. It’s an aspect of it, but we’re not grading that as much. So, I want to go see these guys play football.”
Jaguars fans — with “real football” on the horizon, we want to know where your focus lies. Is it a certain positional battle? A young player with breakout potential? An under-the-radar metric like penalty yards or redzone production?
