NXT airs on CW tonight from the 713 Music Hall in Houston, Texas to celebrate Booker T Appreciation Night. Scheduled for this episode are three huge title matches featuring the NXT Women’s division, plus a tournament starts to crown new #1 contenders for the NXT Tag Team Titles, and Los Americanos go on a side quest to NXT. Be sure to follow along here for complete coverage starting tonight at 8 PM ET!
Triple Threat for the NXT Women’s Title
The likely main event of this week’s NXT will feature Jacy Jayne defending her NXT Women’s Championship
in a Triple Threat match against Sol Ruca and Zaria. Jayne and her Fatal Influence comrades have watched and sometimes participated in the downfall of ZaRuca over the past few months, and now the Rockstar finds herself with one of her toughest title defenses to date.
It was just a few weeks ago when Zaria finally reached her breaking point and attacked Sol Ruca right after the introductions for her one-on-one title match against Jayne. A brutal attack afterwards that Zaria sealed with a kiss earned her a title match of her own the following week. On that night, Sol would, of course, return the favor and make sure that Zaria wouldn’t leave the Performance Center with the championship. Last week on NXT, Sol picked up a victory over Lainey Reid of Fatal Influence to gain some valuable momentum heading into this week.
Now Sol and Zaria will both get a shot and Jacy might need the help of Fallon Henley and Reid to retain more than ever. Will Sol or Sol’s Ex keep their focus on the gold instead of their personal vendetta long enough to dethrone Jayne? Or will Booker T. be telling us to “Stand Up!” so we can give the reigning champion her flowers in Houston?
Izzi & Tatum Step Inside the Steel
Another heated rivalry in the NXT women’s locker room may write its final chapter tonight when the new North American Champion, Tatum Paxley defends her newly won title for the first time against the former champ and her former Culling teammate, Izzi Dame.
The beef between these two dates all the way back to late 2025 when Izzi turned on Tatum and cost her the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Gold Rush. As the two traded wins over the last few months, Izzi managed to win the North American Championship while avoiding her sometimes-chainsaw-wielding rival. Less than two weeks ago at Vengeance Day, Tatum found a way to beat Izzi in an intense battle despite interference and distractions from Shawn Spears and Niko Vance. Then, Izzi turned the mind games up to a ‘10’ by showing Tatum pictures and clips from earlier in Tatum’s career. Yet another distraction from Spears and Vance allowed Izzi to lay out her opponent tonight with a pump kick and a power bomb.
Now the two women step inside a steel cage with the gold on the line in a match that could finally put an end to their months long back and forth. Will the rest of The Culling find a way to get involved to ensure that Tatum’s title reign is a short one? Or will Paxley prove that she didn’t get there by osmosis or slipping on a banana peel and come up with a decisive victory to finally put her former faction behind her?
#1 Contenders Tournament Begins
After shockingly winning the NXT Tag Team Titles from DarkState a few weeks back, the Vanity Project was looking for new competition and Interim GM Robert Stone delivered. He put together a tournament to determine the new #1 contenders and that tournament will get started this week.
NXT’s newest faction of nepo-babies looks to cement themselves further as legitimate threats in the first round when they take on former champions, Hank and Tank in the first round. Charlie Dempsey joined the Birthright ranks last week after his dad, William Regal, and Uriah Connors’ dad, Fit Finlay appeared in the Performance Center. Will Uriah Connors team with Dempsey to represent Birthright and make their famous fathers proud? Or will the former champs get a step closer to getting another shot at the gold with a win?
Two teams who will not be in the tournament are OTM and DarkState who have been at each other’s throats recently. DarkState waited in the dreaded NXT parking lot at Vengeance Day before the scheduled match between D’Angelo and Dion Lennox. OTM was lingering in the parking lot as well and allowed Tony D to battle Lennox one-on-one and pick up a revenge win. If a tag team title shot isn’t in their future, what’s next for OTM and DarkState? Plus, which teams will be pegged for the next first round match on next week’s episode?
Booker T. Appreciation Night
Love him or hate him, at this point, just about everybody has strong feelings about 2-time WWE Hall of Famer and 5-time former WCW Champion, Booker T. and his acumen at the announce table. NXT play-by-play guy Vic Joseph announced last week that we would be celebrating Booker T. Appreciation Night tonight in Booker’s hometown of Houston, Texas.
There will be a shortage of bread, a shortage of water, but no shortage of meat on NXT this week with the Shucky Ducky Quack Quacks out in full effect. What does NXT have in store to celebrate their high-energy, yet seemingly polarizing color commentator? Plus, will Keanu Carver, whose name has been in Booker’s mouth recently, crash the party and show his appreciation in his own brutal way?
Quick Hits
- Jacy Jayne isn’t the only Fatal Influence member with a title defense this week, as Fallon Henley defends her Women’s Speed Championship against Wren Sinclair. - El Grande Americano brings Los Americanos to NXT this week just a few days after winning Rey de Reyes on AAA this past Saturday. - Ethan Page made waves last week by pinning NXT Men’s Champion, Joe Hendry in tag team action last week. Will Page set his sights back on regaining the North American Championship from Myles Borne so Ricky Saints can continue his pursuit of Hendry? - Tony D’Angelo seemed to signal that he had moved past DarkState last week when he told Joe Hendry that the NXT Champion is in his crosshairs.
