The Seattle Seahawks are losing another member of their Super Bowl winning defense, this time to the AFC North.
Boye Mafe has agreed to a 3-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, worth $20 million a year, according to his agent Mike MacCartney. Mafe becomes the third member of the Seahawks’ 2022 draft class to leave the team on Monday, joining Coby Bryant and Kenneth Walker. Mafe’s contract is the largest of the three, as the Bengals expect him to fill the role of one of their top pass rushers.
In his four seasons with the Seahawks, Mafe was a staple in the team’s up-and-down pass rush. Mafe broke out in 2023, recording 9.0 sacks, but had a relative down year in 2025, only bringing down a quarterback two times as a rotational piece. He ends his career in Seattle with 20 sacks, 164 tackles and three forced fumbles.
Cincinnati makes a big bet on Mafe after losing star edge rusher Trey Hendrickson. The Bengals’ contract with Mafe is the third-largest per year handed out to an edge rusher on Monday, falling behind Jaelan Phillips and Odafe Oweh.
