Dynamite airs tonight (Oct. 1) with a live show from Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. This is the second episode of Dynamite during the four week build to WrestleDream, which
takes place on October 18.
I think the Young Bucks are going bankrupt just in time for AEW’s big anniversary show
The Young Bucks’ won a bag filled with $500,000 on Dynamite last month, but it’s a matter of time until they blow all that money. Just take a look at their expanded bio on X, which highlights their unwise spending habits.
“AEW Founding Fathers. Multiple time Tag Team Champions. Won so many awards, one day they’ll name one after us. Matt likes to go on lavish vacations and Nick enjoys gambling on slot machines. Both are currently on strict low carb diets.”
The work history section of their bio tries to compensate for this by talking about how financially savvy (and beloved) they were while working as AEW EVPs from January 2019 through July 2025:
“Amazing, fair, never political EVPs who always put talent first. Never abused power. Always meticulous and careful financially. Beloved by all (most).”
One man who doesn’t love the Young Bucks right now is fellow founding father Kenny Omega, who was stretchered out of Dynamite last month after a brutal attack by the Bucks and the Don Callis Family. But Omega is back in AEW tonight on Dynamite’s special 6th anniversary show, which is 2.5 hours long. That’s an extra half hour for Matthew and Nicholas Jackson to blow all their money on stupid shit in celebration of the big anniversary.
Omega will team up with AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido tonight in a trios match against the Young Bucks and Josh Alexander. A win for the Bucks could put them right back in line for a shot at tag team gold. A win for Omega gets him a sweet measure of revenge against his former friends before possibly setting his sights on TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher, the man who delivered the final blow that sent Kenny to the hospital.
Which AEW founding fathers will stand tall on Dynamite’s 6th anniversary show? You’ll have to tune in to find out.
The rest of the card
It wouldn’t be a proper anniversary show without the AEW world champion. With that in mind, Hangman Page is teaming up with Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs in a trios match against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Daniel Garcia. Look at that, Mox is back in the ring with the world champ again. Katsuyori Shibata isn’t available to neutralize PAC at ringside, so is this a case where the Death Riders will quickly have the numbers advantage?
Darby Allin & AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander vs. Marina Shafir & Wheeler Yuta is also booked tonight on the anniversary show. Will the Death Riders make Stat pay after she attacked Wheeler last week and defiantly shoved her middle fingers right in Moxley’s face? Or will they instead show up with a flamethrower and try to burn Darby alive?
TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher puts his gold on the line tonight against Orange Cassidy. This was originally supposed to be a “Title vs. Streak” match of Fletcher vs. Hologram, but plans changed after Hologram suffered an injury. AEW says Orange has the most wins as champion in AEW history, but “Title vs. Most Wins As A Champion” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it. Regardless, OC will probably try hard at some point during this title bout.
Jack “Jungle Boy” Perry and Luchasaurus reunite tonight for their first match in years as Jurassic Express. I don’t know who they are fighting yet, but the other team doesn’t stand much of a chance. Even though Jurassic Express are babyfaces, will Boy and Luchasaurus already show us a glimpse of their dark side?
How is Timeless Toni Storm handling her shocking loss of the AEW women’s world championship at All Out? Hopefully we’ll find out when she appears live tonight on Dynamite’s 6th anniversary show. Will someone give Storm a reason to join the upcoming women’s Blood and Guts match? If not, will Toni recall the good old days of Thunder Tits and feel inspired to find a partner to pursue the brand new AEW women’s world tag team championship?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
– Speaking of those new women’s tag team titles, TBS Champion Mercedes Mone wants to add a 10th belt to her championship collection. Is there someone backstage who Mercedes is willing to join forces with? I’d suggest Harley Cameron, but she is currently sticking by Kris Statlander’s side. Anyway, when will AEW reveal more details on how the inaugural champions will be crowned?
– Now that Adam Copeland is on hiatus from AEW, what’s Christian Cage’s plan to avoid taking spike piledrivers from FTR each week? For now, his best best is to hope that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are too busy giving out spike piledrivers to JetSpeed and Willow Nightingale.
– Now that MJF is taking time off from AEW, will Mark Briscoe try his best to fuck with the Don Callis Family by driving a bigger wedge between Konosuke Takeshita and AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada?
– It sounds like Hologram will miss the rest of 2025 with an injury. Does that mean plans for his clone will be abandoned, or will El Clon now try to steal Hologram’s identity on AEW programming?
– How long will it be until Eddie Kingston confronts Jon Moxley about what he’s been doing over the last year with the Death Riders?
– Does Jerry Lynn plan to book Max Caster and Anthony Bowens in another tag team match together against their will after their successful outing on Collision?
– Is Dynamite’s 6th anniversary show the perfect night for the return of AEW’s first ever world champion Chris Jericho?
– Where the f*** is Keith Lee?
What will you be looking for on Dynamite?
