The Golden State Warriors wrap up a stretch of four straight home games dating back to before the All-Star break with Sunday’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets. The game is scheduled for 12:30 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on ABC.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State opened the second half of the season with a 121–110 loss to the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. The game was largely uncompetitive as Boston took control early, building a 74–51 lead by halftime. While the Warriors showed some fight late, trimming
the deficit to as few as 11 points in the fourth quarter, the early hole proved too much to overcome as the Celtics — led by Jaylen Brown’s 23-point, 15-rebound, 13-assist triple-double — advanced to second place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 36–19.
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors will be without Stephen Curry for another game as he continues to recover from a knee injury, but the rest of the roster is expected to be available. That includes center Kristaps Porzingis, who made his Warriors debut last game and finished with 12 points in 17 minutes. While there were signs of rust after a month-long layoff, there were also encouraging flashes of his fit within the Warriors’ system, including two deep threes, one assist, and a block. His integration will be worth monitoring — especially in a challenging matchup against the league’s most dominant big man in Denver’s Nikola Jokic.
