The Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff and Will Stein just keep getting commitments. Ever since Stein was announced as head coach, they’ve been stacking their roster for the 2027 season.
Early on Friday, 3-star edge Griff Galloway announced his commitment to the Wildcats. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native plays his high school football at Providence Day School, where he was highly sought after on the recruiting trail.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound player chose the Wildcats over Clemson, Florida, Tennessee,
Notre Dame, Miami, Texas A&M, LSU, and Michigan, among others.
Galloway’s father, Lonnie, is currently an offensive analyst for Dabo Swinney at Clemson. That makes Kentucky’s win here even more impressive, as they were able to beat out family ties to land a promising edge prospect.
247 Sports has Galloway ranked as the No. 685 player in the nation, the No. 65 defensive lineman, and the No. 18 player in North Carolina.
It’s been a strong week for the Wildcats coaching staff as they’ve picked up commitments from some good players. 4-star DB Miles Brown, 3-star RB Kelsey Gerald, and Galloway have all pledged their commitment to the Wildcats just this week.
Galloway becomes the 18th commit for the class of 2027. The Cats’ high school class ranks 10th nationally and fourth in the SEC. Stein is making a name for himself early.
