The details of Bayern Munich’s transfer move for PSV Eindhoven attacker Ismael Saibari are clarifying. The fixed portion of the transfer fee will indeed be below €50M, but add-ons could take the final number just a tick above.
From Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Max Eberl managed to keep the fixed fee for Ismael Saibari less than €50m. With all possible add-ons, the fee can go up to a maximum of €52m [@Plettigoal]
BFW Commentary
That’s still not exactly a small spend, but Saibari
— who is having a monster World Cup — is a pretty big get. The 25-year-old is one of the tournament’s early breakouts and if anything, Bayern appears to have set the groundwork for this deal before the bidding war could really explode.
Credit to chief of sport Max Eberl on a job well done. However, that is not likely to spare him from whispers that the financial package is excessive anyway.
