One more week down which means we are one more week closer to Selection Sunday and where Purdue will be heading for March Madness. I posted these questions prior to the game against Nebraska but the poll
was open after that game as well. I’m interested to see the results of this one so let’s get into it.
First, I asked you who the current Big Ten men’s basketball favorite is.
Michigan, the current leader in the conference with just one loss, was the runaway favorite here with 86% of the vote. Illinois was second with Purdue in 3rd. I would assume that most of the voting was done prior to Purdue’s win over Nebraska so maybe I’ll have to ask this one again next week, pending the results of this weekend’s games of course.
Next, I wanted to know which aspect of this Purdue team you were most worried about, the offense or the defense.
I thought this would be closer to a 50-50 split but nearly 2/3rds of voters are more concerned about the Purdue defense. There’s lots to worry about as Purdue continues to struggle at times here toward the end of the season but it appears that most of you are more concerned with the defense. I assume that’s due to Purdue’s poor three point defense as well as their turnstile like defense in the lane.
