Barcelona midfielder and vice-captain Pedri was the player chosen to speak with the press on Monday ahead of the club’s massive Champions League clash with reigning back-to-back champions PSG at the Parc des Princes.
The Wizard spoke about his friends and former teammates Ferran Torres and Ousmane Dembélé with whom he’ll reunite on Tuesday, and also gave a great answer when asked about the form and the potential of his current teammate Lamine Yamal.
Here’s a summary of Pedri’s best quotes:
Pedri on
Ferran Torres
“I hope he doesn’t have much luck tomorrow. If he gets the chance to play, I hope he doesn’t score. I’ve already told him I wish him luck for the rest of the season. I have a very good relationship with him and I have nothing to say to him, just that I hope he doesn’t have much luck tomorrow and that we win.”
Pedri on Lamine Yamal
“I’ve always seen him eager to get out there, to play, and to enjoy himself. You can tell he enjoys playing. He makes the difference. He shouldn’t be looking at anyone else because, if he’s looking at Leo, it’s difficult to measure himself against the best player in history. He has to focus on his career, stay calm. Right now, he’s the best player in the world. We have to help him stay calm and enjoy himself.”
Pedri on Ousmane Dembélé
“He has always impressed me a lot. I used to see him in training and the things he did were beyond anything a normal player could do. When he arrived in Paris, he exploded. Here, his consistency earned him a Ballon d’Or. I hope he enjoys it a lot; he’s a great friend.”
