Ahead of Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash, Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck knows exactly how big a challenge awaits his side at the Allianz Arena. Schlotterbeck believes this Bayern Munich team is operating at a level rarely seen over the past two decades, and Borussia Dortmund will need to bring their best if they want to leave Bavaria with a result.
“This is probably the best Bayern team of the last 15 or 20 years. We’ll have to put in a performance like we did in the first half today
[against Bremen], then we’ll have a chance. But of course, Bayern are the favorites. We’ll go there without any fear. We’ll put in a good performance and then we’ll see what we can do. I’m confident that we’ll come out of it well,” Schlotterbeck said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Schlotterbeck was also asked about Harry Kane winning the Ballon d’Or, and he had no doubts about whether the Bayern striker deserved the honor.
“Absolutely deserved, yes. Very well deserved,” Schlotterbeck remarked.
There you have it. Even the opposition knows what Bayern Munich are bringing to the table this season.
