Cancel your Valentine’s Day morning plans. College Gameday is coming back to Tucson.
ESPN’s Saturday morning show will be held at McKale Center next Saturday ahead of Arizona men’s basketball’s game vs. Texas Tech.
ESPN’s basketball College Gameday shw last went to Arizona in February 2022, when then-No. 3 Arizona hosted Oregon in Tommy Lloyd’s first season as head coach. The Wildcats won that game 84-81.
As the No. 1 team
in the country this year with a currently undefeated team, Arizona felt like a prime candidate to host College Gameday. It was more of a matter of when, not if.
The matchup vs. Texas Tech will feature two top-25 teams both in contention for a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. This is the second time this season Texas Tech will appear in a College Gameday-featured game, as the show went to Lubbock last month for the Red Raiders’ game vs. Houston. Texas Tech beat the Cougars 90-86.
Next Saturday will be Arizona’s fourth time hosting College Gameday, which is tied for eighth-most of any program and the most of any school west of Kansas.
