Redemption!
Former LFA fighter Alik Lorenz more than likely punched his ticket to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) when he smoked Brazil’s Mahamed Aly in the first round tonight (Tues., Aug. 18, 2026) during Week 2 of Season 10 of Contender Series inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Both Lorenz and Aly were returning to the show after suffering quick knockout losses during Season 9 of Contender Series.
However, it was Lorenz who returned with a vengeance.
Lorenz came out quickly, charging at Aly
while firing overhand rights. He then switched things up with monstrous uppercuts that repeatedly found their target.
Just over two minutes into the fight, Lorenz connected with a massive right hand that planted Aly on the canvas. The Arizona-based prospect followed him down and landed a couple of brutal hammerfists that put the Brazilian out, forcing the referee to jump in and stop the fight at 2:23 of the opening round.

Lorenz (8-2) has long been a very good Light Heavyweight prospect and is the definition of kill or be killed—and more often than not, it is kill.
The 29-year-old owns a 100 percent finishing rate with seven knockouts and one submission. Even more impressively, all seven of his knockout victories have come in the first round.
Lorenz is now riding a two-fight winning streak since suffering a 30-second knockout loss to Abdul-Rakhman Yakhyaev during Season 9 of Contender Series. In hindsight, that is not looking like such a bad loss after seeing the success Yakhyaev has enjoyed inside the Octagon.
Lorenz recently told MMAmania.com that he wants to turn around quickly and compete at Noche UFC 4 because he lives and trains in Arizona at The MMA Lab.
After Tuesday night’s violent redemption, he may get his wish.
