Real Madrid star Arda Güler scored in Türkiye’s 3-2 win over the hosts, the United States, in the final game of Group D. The USA were ahead after only three minutes on the clock thanks to Auston Trusty’s opener. Güler equalized in the 10th minute.
Baris Alper Yilmaz gave an already eliminated Türkiye’s side in the 31st minute, but the USA refused to give up just yet. Sebastian Berhalter equalized at the start of the second half. However, the game ended in truly dramatic circumstances as Kaan Ayhan,
the Galatasaray center-back, grabbed a super late winner in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
Arda Güler delivered a complete attacking display, scoring once from an xG of 0.53 and leading all players with three successful dribbles at a perfect rate. He was a constant outlet, registering 67 touches, 8 passes into the final third, and 77% passing accuracy. Defensively, he contributed two tackles, four recoveries, and won all three aerial duels.
